I am an associate professor of political science at the University of California, Davis. My research falls in the field of international relations, and focuses on the study of international negotiations. I study negotiations across a wide variety of topics, including trade, climate change, civil war, human rights, the European Union, and the United Nations. I enjoy looking at the world through the lens of negotiation studies, and see negotiation concepts at work almost everywhere I look.
In my free time, you can often find me hiking and backpacking: from the mountains of the Sierras to the waters of the Pacific and everywhere in-between. I also travel to experience new sights and landscapes -- Texas, Peru, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii, and hopefully many more to come!
